San Antonio, TX Air Conditioning Systems

Your air conditioning system has a basic function: remove heat from your home. The process of doing that involves two key components: evaporator coils, and condensing coils.

The Evaporator Coils

These coils are located inside the indoor unit of your air conditioning system. Similar to how the outside of a can of computer cleaner gets cold when you release the air, these coils get very cold. A fan in your indoor unit pulls warm air from your home and pushes it over the cold coils. A refrigerant inside the coils absorbs the heat and carries it outside while the newly cooled air continues into your home.

The Condensing Coils

The refrigerant, now carrying the heat from your home, continues to the condensing coils in the outdoor unit. Another fan blows outdoor air over the condensing coils which exhaust the heat into the outdoor air.

If your air conditioning system isn’t working well, if it’s blowing warm air, or if it has started to make an unusual noise call the San Antonio, TX air conditioning repair pros at Cowboys Air Conditioning & Heating.
